Clowns Without Borders

is an international organization based in Barcelona, Spain that sends shows and workshops to bring hope to people who have been effected by war andpoverty. They have sent hundreds of performing groups to war zones all over the world. Their slogan: No Child Without a Smile!

In the United States Clowns Without Borders is unknown and just a scattering of performers are involved in Clowns Without Borders missions. We have formed strong ties with organizations in Chiapas, Mexico and have sent many missions down to perform in refugee camps and villages there. Our audiences there are Mayan indians who speak no Spanish and live in extreme poverty. Many groups have been chased off their lands by the ongoing violence there.

Here are photos and stories from my three expeditions to Chiapas and one from talented Portland Clown Sarah Liam Foster We clowns raise all the funds to pay for our trips by putting on fundraising shows in our home cities.
